Our vision was to create a retreat that embraces contrasts, where a humble sheep farm evolved into a serene sanctuary that honors the raw beauty of Iceland while fostering warmth and connection. Our design concept centered around the Scandinavian concept of hygge—a feeling of comfort, coziness and harmony. The lodge’s unique turf roof pays tribute to Iceland’s heritage, allowing the structure to blend seamlessly into the backdrop of the tundra. 

Inside, we layered rich colors with bold patterns to bring warmth and energy to the space. Mid-century iconic designs by Wagner, Dietzel and Moeller introduce clean, elegant lines that complement the stark exterior landscape. A curated collection of Icelandic art grounds the lodge in the culture and beauty that inspired it. At Deplar Farm, every detail was designed to make you feel invigorated by the wild, rugged beauty and embraced by the comfort within.
